The fire began in the basement, but spread and caused the roof to collapse, according to a Trotwood firefighter on the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
UPDATE @ 2:15 a.m.:
Our crew on the scene reported that the fire appears to be mostly contained and that crews were working to contain a few remaining hot spots.
A neighbor called the fire in around 12:15 a.m.
A local resident reported that the house was vacant and most likely nobody was inside the residence.
The roof of the house, as well as the left side were heavily damage, our crew reported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
UPDATE @ 12:50 a.m.:
The majority of the house is engulfed with flames.
Fire is shooting high into the air, according to our crew on scene.
UPDATE @ 12:40 a.m.:
Our crew on the scene reported that flames are visible out of the right side of the building.
Wolf Creek Pike is blocked in the area as crews fight the fire.
INITIAL REPORT:
We are hearing reports of a working house fire in the 4800 block of Wolf Creek Pike.
Scanner traffic indicates there is fire visible from the windows of the house.

Additional reports indicate mutual aid has been requested to the scene.
The fire was reported just after 12:15 a.m.
