FREE RIDES: RTA waives fares for riders who download app

Greater Dayton RTA riders who download the agency’s Transit app and show it to their driver will receive a free ride today, Valentine’s Day.

The promotional event is due to 1,000 people downloading the app last year. The transit authority estimates more than 2,200 people have downloaded the app, called Transit.

REMINDER: RTA route changes begin this week

The app uses GPS technology to track buses as they approach stops. The app’s launch was part of RTA’s real-time tracking technology roll out in 2016. The app for iPhone and Android is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
