Freezing today, rainy tomorrow; Freeze Warning in effect

Freeze Warning is currently in effect for the whole region until 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Sub-freezing temperatures of around 27 degrees are expected, which will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, as well as damaging unprotected outdoor plumbing.

This morning we will see widespread frost. However, skies will be clear, for sunny skies and a high temperature of around 49 degrees, the NWS said. Tonight, however, there will be a chance for some rain overnight as clouds increase. The low temperature will be around 38 degrees.

For Friday, we will see that rain continue during the day and into the night, with high temperatures near 49 degrees and low temperatures near 33 degrees.

By Saturday, though, those showers should drop away, as the forecast calls for clear skies and a high near 54 degrees. Saturday night will stay mostly clear, with a low of around 39 degrees.
