Services for Qua’Lek Shelton are planned for Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at Mount Enon Missionary Baptist Church, 1501 West Thirst Street, according to an online obituary.

Interment will be at the West Memory Gardens Cemetery in Moraine.
Shelton was one of two juveniles shot on Catalpa Drive. The other victim, a 16-year-old, was in good condition, Dayton police previously told News Center 7.

Shelton died Tuesday, two days after the shooting. He died from a gunshot wound to the neck and his death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Shelton was a receiver and defensive back on the Dunbar freshman football team, and a member of the Wolverine track and field team.
Wednesday afternoon, officers located the Saturn Vue SUV believed to have been used in the shooting.
It was located in Jefferson Twp. near the area of Hagen Avenue and Rossiter Drive.
There has been no word of arrests or if police have interviewed any persons of interest in the shooting.
