Gift registrations are available for the half and full marathon. Fifty airmen will be selected to receive a free registration.
Staff Sgt. Kyle Hipol, a Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System support office consultant at the 711th Human Performance Wing, was one of the many recipients who benefited from gift registrations from last year’s race.
“After receiving this gift, it opened up a whole new world of a running community that I got to feel a part of,” said Hipol. “Who knows how many more years I would have put it off if I didn’t get the opportunity to participate in something so special. I benefited greatly from the whole experience leading up to the event as well, not just the day it happened.”
Junior active-duty enlisted members, E-1 to E-4, who are interested in receiving a donated entry are asked to submit the following information to: usaf.marathon@us.af.mil.
• Name
• Rank
• Unit
• Race preference (half or full)
• A paragraph explaining why they are interested in participating in this year’s marathon
The deadline to submit a request is June 30.
To purchase a gift registration, go to the Air Force Marathon registration website at: https://raceroster.com/events/2020/26805/2020-air-force-marathon. Gift registrations can be purchased two different ways:
• If registering for themselves and purchasing a gift registration – At the end of the registration process, along with the optional purchases such as the Breakfast of Champions and pasta dinner, select the option to add a gift registration.
• If purchasing a gift registration only, go to the store option instead of race when registering.
The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, is scheduled for Sept. 19. The Health & Fitness Expo is held at Wright State University's Nutter Center and is scheduled for Sept. 17-18. The event also will feature a Breakfast of Champions and Gourmet Pasta Dinner Sept. 18.
