Glen Stacy managed family's flower business

HAMILTON — Glen Allen Stacy, of Mason, who managed the family’s business called Max Stacy Flowers died June 14 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was 50 years old.

Lisa Johnson, a manager at Max Stacy Flowers on High Street in Hamilton, said her boss was very kind and generous to all the customers who frequented the store.

“He was funny and giving. We have some homeless people up here and he was just very giving to them and everybody, and a great boss to work for,” she said.

“He gave to many charities in this town. I couldn’t even begin to name them all to be honest with you about everybody that calls here. He’d donate something.”

Stacy, a native of Hamilton, was a student at the McGuffey Laboratory School and graduated from Talawanda High School in 1979. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in business in 1983 from Miami University.

After a brief tenure in the logistics industry in Charlotte, N.C., he returned to Ohio in 1990 to assume management of his family’s floral business, which he operated until his death.

He was an advocate for the interests of small businesses and retail merchants, serving previously as Board Chairman of the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, among other voluntary efforts for the local community and floral industry.

His services were held on June 19 at Vineyard Community Church in Cincinnati and his funeral arrangements were handled by Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Memorials gifts may be directed to Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF), or to Back 2 Back Ministries of Mason.
