City council meets tonight

City council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. tonight.

The council will consider re-platting a section of Valle Greene North area. The change includes consolidating two partial parcels into a single lot containing a 18.6 acres of land bordered by I-675, Dayton Yellow Springs Road, Commerce Boulevard and Garland Avenue. The planning board recommended approving the re-platting at its March 8 meeting.

The council will also discuss the Valle Greene TIF (Tax Increment Finance) agreement.

BEAVERCREEK

Scramble on Our Greene

Registration is open for the Tom Birt Memorial Scramble on Our Greene scheduled for Friday, May 29, at the Beavercreek Golf Club.

The scramble is a joint effort between the city of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation and Culture Department and the city of Fairborn. The annual outing, in its 18th year, is held as a fundraiser to benefit the youth of low-income families and/or assist with recreation programming for the Greene County area.

The $85 fee includes breakfast, lunch, golf cart, course refreshments, 18 holes of golf and more. Every player receives a golf goody bag and use of the driving range. Mulligan tickets and a 50/50 raffle will also be available. Players will have the opportunity to win prizes. Register as an individual or a duo and you will be paired with others.

XENIA

Registration open for 5K run/walk

Registration is open for Greene County Public Health’s 7th annual “Spring Has Sprung” Healthy Families 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 2, at the Xenia YMCA, 135 E. Church Street in Xenia.

Registration and check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Xenia YMCA with the pet- and stroller-friendly run/walk beginning at 9 a.m. The course begins and ends at the Xenia YMCA.

The cost is $15 per person by March 25, which includes an event T-shirt. After March 25, the cost is $20 per person and a T-shirt is not guaranteed.

Teams of 10 or more are eligible to receive a discount. Interested groups should call Laurie Fox at 937-374-5669.
