Regional planners meet tonight in Greene County to discuss how a plan to build homes in Sugarcreek Twp. will accommodate other plans to straighten a sharp curve for better traffic flow.

Oberer Homes has submitted plans to build 113 homes on 42 acres, with an equal amount of land to be preserved, across from Sugarcreek MetroPark at Wilmington-Dayton and Conference roads.

Those plans did not get approved by township zoning officials because the builder needs to accommodate a long-standing plan to straighten out the 90-degree turn on Wilmington-Dayton Road, according to Sugarcreek Twp. Administrator Barry Tiffany.

Residents have voiced their concerns with Oberer’s plans, which call for various less-than-an acre lot sizes.

The Greene County Regional Planning Commission will be taking up the issue at their regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Greene County Service Center, 651 Dayton-Xenia Road.
