The other juvenile in custody is believed to be 16, the lieutenant said.
Police are continuing the investigation into what occurred, he said, but they have determined that the incident had nothing to do with the school or any school function that was occurring there.
Lt. Williams said there was no information about the car or the driver. He did say that police recovered a semiautomatic pistol at the scene.
INITIAL REPORT
Springfield police responded to the parking lot of Fulton Elementary School on Yellow Springs Street after someone was hit by a car during an incident involving a gun, authorities said.
Police did not release many details about the incident in the 600 block of Yellow Springs and did not have a condition of the person who was struck by a vehicle.
The incident was reported around 3:15 p.m.
Officers did not say how the gun was involved in the incident.
