Where do you work: Kettering Medical Center Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Recovery Room)
Describe what your day is like/what you do: I recover patient's from general anesthesia. We see all types of surgeries and procedures ranging from MRIs to brain surgeries. All the staff nurses have critical care experience either from an ICU or emergency department (my background is from the emergency department).

What inspired you to get into health care? My family has a long history of lung issues, and I wanted to be able to give back to those who have family members that also suffer from the same issues.
What's a memorable experience you've had in health care? Each day is memorable. I take care of people that range from many different ages and I have heard some amazing stories of their lives. I learn something new each and every day.

What do you want readers to know about your job right now: We are an airway driven unit, which can be stressful at times with airway droplets circulating. As surgery cases begin to increase again, we are even more aware of the risks and possible exposure. I am also 23 weeks pregnant, and living through a pandemic during this time has been very eye-opening and also terrifying. We are all doing our best to keep our patients and ourselves safe with the proper personal protective equipment and social distancing.
