6 homes evacuated for gas leak in Centerville

Six homes have been evacuated following a gas leak on Bigger Lane this morning, according to police.

The leak was reported on Bigger south of Alex-Bell Road around 10:30 a.m., according to initial reports.

An excavation crew working in the neighborhood struck a 4-inch low pressure gas line, which caused the leak, according to firefighters.

The people impacted by the evacuations were expected to be out of their homes until Vectren could repair the leak.
