The Rotary Club of Huber Heights received a $4,000 anonymous donation for its annual Adopt a Family at Christmas program, club president Melissa McGhee said.

The Rotary works with Huber Heights City Schools to identify families needing assistance for Christmas. Members of the Wayne High School Interact Club are then assigned families and provided funds for purchasing items on each child’s wish list. A Rotary-sponsored exchange student from Chile, Antonia Ester Ronda Ortiz, assisted in the gathering.

Club members met to wrap the gifts for 39 families — a total of 91 children — on the last day of school before break. Rotarians delivered the gifts and a Kroger gift card to the families. In addition to the anonymous donation, individual donations from Rotarians and proceeds from the club’s annual golf outing were directed to the effort.
