A dozen professionals will be inducted in a ceremony March 11. They have excelled the arts in some form or another, from stand-up comedy to teaching to opera and more. Their talents will be on display at a performance showcase the evening of March 10.

The Hall of Fame is located at the center. Eight people were inducted in the inaugural class in 2016.

Those being inducted in 2017:
• Robert Douglas “Bob” Gay, a 1973 graduate, attended Boston’s Berklee College of Music. A studio musician, he has recorded for artists such as David Bowie, Chaka Khan and Bee Gee; toured with the New Kids on the Block; and does television jingles, theme songs and commercials.
• Scott Huffman graduated in 1982 from Wayne where he was involved in theater and choir. He went on to stand up comedy with international acts, toured with international bands and as lead singer with rock bands.
• Kimberle Moon, class of 1970, holds a doctor of musical arts degree in vocal performance and speech pathology from The Ohio State University. She is a singing voice specialist, has performed in chamber and choral organizations in the U.S. and Europe and is Artist in Residence in Voice and Vocal Arts, William Carey University, Hattiesburg, Miss.
• Rick Moon, class of 1972, studied music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He is an opera tenor in over 100 cities in the U.S. and Italy and gives concerts singing a varied repertoire. He recently released an album, “The Twelfth of Never.”
• Sandra Moon, a 1975 graduate, went to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Over a 30-year career, she has sung more than 1,000 performances in over 100 operatic and concert roles. She is an assistant professor of voice at Louisiana State University.
• Agnes McEnery was an elementary music teacher in the Wayne Twp. schools from 1960 until retirement in 1982. She played cello in the Dayton Philharmonic and Springfield Symphony orchestras and played for the Kenley Players productions. She passed in 1993.
• Tina McPherson graduated Wayne in 1975 and Wright State in 1980. She taught high school theater at Trotwood-Madison, where she directed more than 35 plays and musicals. She has been involved in Dayton theater organizations for more than 40 years.
• Melissa Dawn Montag graduated from Wittenberg University and was a dedicated teacher and advocate for theater students at Wayne. Her students won a number of DayTony theater awards and she was instrumental in inducting more than 200 students into the International Thespian Society. She passed in 2012.
• Jack Roseberry taught band, orchestra and chorus for 30 years in the Wayne-Huber Heights district as well as serving as assistant high school band director. He retired in 2003, worked in instrument sales and continues to play with area bands.
• Bill Schmid, class of 1975, holds a doctorate degree from North Texas State University, taught trumpet, music theory and jazz courses at Georgia Southern University and today teaches trumpet students at the university. He also is a performer, composer and arranger.
• Daniel Smith was a talk-radio host, Dan the Average Man, for WHIO Radio as well as a freelance writer for the Dayton Daily News. After retiring, he was auditorium manager for Wayne High School and active in the Huber Heights Community Theater. He died in 2009.
• Margo Smith, a Dayton native, was an elementary teacher in local schools before becoming a country music and Christian music singer. She is known for her yodeling talents and has won numerous music industry awards.
