The splash pad in Huber Heights’ Thomas Cloud Park is now open.

The splash pad is operating from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 4707 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights City Manager Rob Schommer said.

The city asks that those who go to the splash pad follow state and local health department guidelines by practicing social distancing and washing their hands often. Primarily, Schommer said the city will rely on its citizens to use common sense.

“If you’ve been exposed to someone who is sick or you are feeling sick, please just stay home,” he said. “Don’t take any unnecessary risks.”

Schommer said that there will be employees coming by regularly to clean the facility and maintain the splash pad.

“We’ve had a very good experience with people respecting each other and the social distancing guidelines at our other facilities,” Schommer said.

The city’s pool at the Kroger Aquatic Center has been open since the beginning of the month.

The city had been preparing to open the pool at the Kroger Aquatic Center even before Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced the order allowing pools to open.

“We need to all work together to keep these things open and get through the summer safely,” Schommer said.

The city is still waiting for guidance on large gatherings to change before opening the Rose Music Center.
