Hydroplaning blamed for crash on I-75 South

Hydroplaning is being blamed for an accident on I-75 South that left a pickup truck on its top.

The driver, a 45-year-old Dayton man, was on the ramp from I-70 East to I-75 South when he lost control of the vehicle and flipped it about 5 p.m., a trooper with the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The man was not injured, but the truck was left upside down, coming to rest in the center and right lanes. Motorists drove around the wreck to keep traffic moving.

He was driving too fast for the conditions, but will not be cited for speeding, the trooper said. The man will be cited for failure to control a motor vehicle instead.
