2 injured leaving Eldora Speedway campground

On July 12, 2012 at approximately 8:14 PM Darke County deputies, along with Ansonia Rescue, Rossburg Fire, Spirit Medical Transport, and two CareFlight helicopter's were dispatched to the 4400 block of North Star-Ft. Loramie Road in reference to a one vehicle injury crash

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Ford F-250, driven by Holly Burlile, 33, Tiffin, Ohio, was traveling out of the Eldora Speedway camping lot on the north side of the race track onto North Star-Ft. Loramie Road with four occupants in the bed of the truck.

As the truck was leaving the lot, it was driven over a gravel incline which resulted in two of the passengers that were sitting on the tailgate to fall from the vehicle onto the roadway. William Powers, 53, Toledo, Ohio and Jerry Boes, 39, Las Vegas, Nevada, were airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital.  Boes is listed in critical condition and Power's condition is unknown, at this time.

This crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
