The student who suffered minor injuries turned down a trip to a hospital, troopers said.
Significant front-end damage was done to the SUV (not a pickup truck as first reported to emergency dispatch). According to the preliminary investigation, the Dodge Journey SUV hit the rear of the bus, continued through a wooden fence and ended up back on the side of Moorefield Road.
The bus appears to have damage to its rear.
INITIAL REPORT
A collision involving a school bus and a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon in Moorefield Twp., Clark County, has resulted in injuries to at least one student and the driver of the truck, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The crash at Moorefield Road at Stanway Avenue was reported just after 4 p.m. According to initial reports, the truck caught fire.
The patrol post in Springfield tells us there were as many as eight students aboard.
Moorefield Road is closed until further notice.
