Scott McDaniel, who operates Scott McDaniel Trucking in Terre Haute, Indiana, said he last spoke with Blueher about 10 p.m. Sunday.
"Butch was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back," McDaniel told News Center 7's James Buechele on Tuesday. McDaniel said he began calling authorities in Indiana and Ohio when he hadn't heard from Blueher -- his former brother-in-law -- by noon Monday.
"I knew there was something wrong when I couldn't get a hold of him because we'll talk two or three times a day," McDaniel said.
The Clark County Coroner's Office is continuing to establish a probable cause of death.
