The MidAmerican Energy crews, comprised of line crews and support staff, left the Quad Cities (Bettendorf, Iowa) on Labor Day morning and expect to arrive in Raleigh, North Carolina, Wednesday afternoon, Geoff Greenwood, company media relations manager, said in an email.

The Iowa crew could be sent elsewhere, depending on need, but they will be ready for assignments Thursday morning.
Most of the employees sent from the Des Moines-based company are from Iowa and some are from Illinois, Greenwood said.

Charlotte-based Duke Energy requested mutual assistance from MidAmerican, Greenwood said.
