A 21-year-old Piqua woman was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital Wednesday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in Shelby County.

Preliminary investigation showed that a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cheyenne R. Smith was headed north in the 1000 block of state Route 66 when Smith went off the right side of the roadway at a slight left curve. She over-corrected and slid across and off the left side of the road, striking a detached garage near the intersection of Russia Versailles Road, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
