Kettering closes parks, rec and arts indoor facilities until April 30

Kettering city officials have decided that starting at 5 p.m. today all parks, recreation and arts indoor facilities will close until at least April 30.

All parks, recreation and cultural arts facilities will close at 5 p.m., today. Outdoor parks remain open,” spokeswoman Mary Azbill said. “Council meetings are still going on as planned.”

Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department will attempt to reschedule programs and events and if an event or program a person has enrolled in is canceled, refunds will be automatically processed and no further action is needed, city officials stated.

Polen Farm is closed to the public. The facility will only be available to previously scheduled private weddings and receptions.

Voting polls at the Charles I. Lathrem Center will be open Tuesday, March 17 for Primary voting according to city officials. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose issued a directive to county boards of elections to allow curbside voting upon request.

Officials say the decision to close facilities is based on guidance from the state, and Public Health – Dayton and Montgomery County and the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Charles I. Lathrem Center – Closed with limited services:
