Kettering police announce retirement of award-winning K9

Kettering police has announced the imminent retirement of an award-winning member of the department: K9 Fuse.

Fuse entered the K9 academy in October 2012, and in 2017 ranked 4th in the nation in Narcotics at the United States Police Canine Association competition. He also joined officers Wright and Maloney and K9 Jax to rank 1st in the nation as top department team.

Fuse will be staying with his partner, officer Wright.

Wright said that he is planning on long walks in the rain with Fuse and serving him breakfast in bed on the weekends.

Fuse will officially retire on May 27.
