Dowler’s vehicle was then struck by a Dodge Nitro SUV driven by Kassandra Duplessis, 26, also of Greenville. She was behind Dowler’s vehicle.
Byrd, trapped in the wreckage, was extricated and taken to Miami Valley Hospital by LifeLine helicopter.
Duplessis, her 4-year-old daughter and Beckam Poling, 47, also of Greenville, were taken to various hospitals.
The conditions of the victims was not known, according to the sheriff’s office. The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

Five people were injured, one fatally, in a head-on crash on Ohio 121 in Darke County near Wayne Lakes.
Deputies responded to the three-vehicle crash around 8:45 a.m. and discovered a collision in the 3500 block.
One person was killed and a second was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Three others were involved in the crash and were treated at the scene, according to Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer.
Spencer said two vehicles were travelling south on 121 and a third vehicle was travelling north when someone drove left-of-center.
A crash reconstruction team was on the scene and is expected to continue their investigation for the next couple of hours, Spencer said.
An exact cause of the crash is still being determined.
No identities or genders of the victims have been released pending notification of family members.

At least one person is dead following a crash on Ohio 121 in Darke County this morning, according to deputies.
The road remains closed while crews conduct an investigation on the scene.
Three vehicles are reported to be involved in the crash, which occured in the 3500 block of Ohio 121 around 8:45 a.m.
We are working to learn the severity of any other injuries that may have occurred in the crash.

The road is expected to be closed for some time.

Deputies and emergency crews are on the scene on a reported serious crash reported to be in the 3500 block of Ohio 121 in Darke County.
The crash was reported around 8:45 a.m.
Emergency dispatch traffic is indicating there are possibly three vehicles involved.
Multiple medics have been requested to the scene.
