A caller to 911 identified himself as the victim and spoke with a dispatcher as well as other people at the scene in the moments following the shooting.

"I need an ambulance! I'm on Old Riverside. I just got shot at Old Riverside and Nottingham Road, in my head and my arm!"

When the dispatcher asked the young man who shot him, he said, "The [n-word] I was fighting but I beat his [expletive].... He's down the street still. I don't know his name."

The victim spoke rapidly and was agitated during the call.

"My boys are about to come get me," he said, prompting the dispatcher to ask him to wait for the medic unit.

"I don't know which way he went," the victim said when asked whether he knew where the shooter was.

At one point he asks someone there with him whether his wounds were made by a BB gun or a “real gun.” He was heard telling someone he believed it was a revolver.
