Initial indications are that the incident started as a robbery that escalated into gunfire, Dayton police officials said in a prepared statement.
Officers dispatched to Windsor Avenue on the report of a shooting found a male, believed to be 18 to 21 years old, who had been shot. He suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in a hospital.
While on Windsor Avenue, officers said they received a report that a vehicle carrying two gunshot victims had arrived at another city hospital. Their conditions have not been made available.
Police have not said whether they believe the juvenile shot all three people.
Police said they have identified all of the people involved and will present their findings to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office when they wrap up their investigation.

A young man is in life-threatening condition after he was shot and police are trying to find out what led to the violence, Dayton Sgt. Thomas Schloss said.

The male, believed to be 18 to 21 years old, was shot in front of several witnesses, Schloss said.
Police dispatched to the 1200 block of Windsor Avenue found the man about 8:15 p.m.
"We're not sure what happened," the sergeant said, but it happened "right here on the street" in front of witnesses.
Dayton homicide detectives are interviewing several witnesses, he said.
Police recovered a number of shell casings believed to be connected to the shooting.
