Highway reopens following crash involving 3 semis on I-70 in Clark County

All lanes of westbound Interstate 70 were shut down for over an hour in Clark County after three semitrailers were involved in a crash Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported around 10 a.m. on westbound I-70 near the exit to state Route 72 in Springfield Twp. after a semi traveling in the left lane rear-ended another semi, according to state troopers.

The crash caused the semis to crash into another one that was traveling in the right lane.

One semi driver was trapped in the cab as a result of the crash. He was rescued and transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be serious, according to investigators.

The crash initially shut down all the westbound lanes of I-70 at the state Route 72 exit. The highway was reopened around 11:15 a.m., according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

It was not immediately clear if any citations were issued because of the crash.
