Loaded gun found in bushes near Dayton home, police say

A loaded gun was discovered in bushes next to a Dayton home Sunday morning, according to a police report.

Dayton police were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. to a residence in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue.

On scene, a man handed police a firearm he found during his morning walk, read the report. He reportedly found the gun, a rusty, dark gray .38 caliber, in bushes on the side of the house.

Police say the gun had a round stuck in the chamber and two rounds in the magazine. The gun was not reported as stolen.
