Local gun shop’s ‘grope our guns, they won’t tell’ message raises eyebrows, causes laughter

A Dayton Daily News reader took this photo of Valley Ammo in Spring Valley Monday. The sign has raised some eye brows, but others find it humorous.

A local business’ window message is drawing ire and causing laughter.

The message “stop in and grope our guns. ‘They’ won’t tell” was recently displayed on the front window of Valley Ammo, 15 W. Main St. in Spring Valley.

With the words “enough said,” the shop posted a picture of the window Thursday, Sept. 27.

It received mostly positive reactions from fans of the page.

“Stupid,” one person wrote.

“Not even if there is a book deal.😂😂😂😂,” a man wrote under her comment.

Messages seeking comment were sent to team members listed on the Facebook page including Valley Ammo owner and manager John Ward. 

The store responded to a message sent via Facebook with the following statement:

“Good Morning Amelia! Thanks for your inquiry, but we have no further comment.”

According to its Facebook page, the Greene County business was launched on May 9, 2015.

“If you're looking for a friendly, knowledgeable staff, convenient location and great prices, you won't want to pass up a visit to Valley Ammo!!!,” the page’s description says.

The store routinely writes messages on its front window.

A message in a photo the shop posted to its Facebook page in February read: “Valentine Woes ??? Nothing says I love you like a new shotgun xoxoxo.”

Valley Ammo posted this photo of its latest  window message to Facebook with the words "enough said."
