Local lawyer David Brannon has filed and been approved to become the administrator of Takoda Collins’ estate.

Collins is the 10-year-old boy who died after being found unresponsive in a Dayton home in December.  Collins’ father Al McLean called 911 and has since been charged with multiple felonies involving abuse.

The investigations into what all happened prior to Collins’ death are still ongoing.

Police said the 10-year-old was abused, isolated and even raped before his death.

The process for Brannon to be appointed administrator on Collins’ estate began earlier this month and hearings have taken place.

A probate judge reviewed the case and approved Brannon’s appointment Tuesday.

The 10-year-old has no known assets to distribute, but Brannon may be able to take legal action on behalf of the estate.

We’re reaching out to Brannon to see what this legal step will mean.

We’re also continuing to following the investigation into Collins’ death, including whether the coroner’s office has made an official ruling on Collins’ cause of death.
