Miles went for a swim Sunday morning, and emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 7:53 a.m. for a “swimmer in distress,” according to the release.
Authorities deployed rescue personnel and conducted searches by air and water, but Miles was not located until the following morning, according to the release.

A spokesperson for the police department said the police chief had been with Miles’ family all day today.
