Losing gravity with the Blue Angels’ Fat Albert at Dayton Air Show

Wonder what it is like to take a ride inside of the Blue Angels’ C-130 Fat Albert?

I’ll put it this way, it is ten times better than the best roller coaster rides you have ever taken.

I took a spin with Marine Capt. A.J. Harrell and his Fat Albert tour Friday.

They along with Blue Angels' fighter jet pilots are in town for The Vectren Dayton Air Show Saturday and Sunday, June 28-29, at the Dayton International Airport.

Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. both days.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids ages 6-11 and seniors.

To say I felt the full force of gravity during the eight minute demonstration is an understatement.

One second it was as if I was going to float away.

Moments later, it was as if I would melt into the ground.

The trip included high performance climbs and an “assault landing.”

I felt the power of 2 1/2 Gs, but it barely fazed the Fat Albert crew.
