Lawn care service employee injured in Centerville mower accident

UPDATE @ 1:20 p.m.: 

An employee of a lawn care service suffered minor injuries after the mower rolled on top of him, according to officials.

The worker was mowing near a creek when the mower overturned and trapped the worker under it, Washington Twp. fire officials said.

At least four Centerville police officers were able to free the worker and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Earlier, Centerville officials said the person’s injuries were described as minor.

The accident sent some oil and gas from the mower into the creek, prompting a response from the Ohio EPA to check the spill.

The EPA is responding to Crossbrook Drive in Centerville after fluids from a lawn mower spilled into a creek, according to the City of Centerville Facebook page.

One person was taken to the hospital after a lawn mower accident was reported around 11:30 a.m.

The person sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Centerville police are on the scene and have secured the area as the EPA investigates.
