“Without our amazing volunteers, the burden of care falls solely onto our dedicated and passionate staff. We all understand that this is not going to be easy, but we feel that limiting the number of people who pass through our shelter is the wise and socially responsible decision to make at this time,” the humane society posted.
The shelter also is suspending the intake of non-emergency animals, such as stray cats, kittens and owner-surrendered cats.
