Mainstreet Piqua will host the third annual Groovy Gourd Bike Tour on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Applications are available for the tour that will start and end behind the Municipal Government Complex. The tour will feature three options of 6.5 miles, 25 miles and 50 miles.
The fee for the ride is $14 through Thursday, Oct. 1. Afterward, the fee will be $18. A lightweight reflective safety vest is available for another $10.
Route maps will be available to all participants. Helmets are mandatory for the ride. At the end, each participant will receive a locally grown gourd or pumpkin.

Bear’s Mill is topic of luncheon series
Bear’s Mill will be the program for the Wednesday, Oct. 14, Monthly Luncheon Series session at the YWCA Piqua.
Marti Goetz, executive director of the Friends of Bear’s Mill, will discuss the history of the 166-year-old working grain mill located in Darke County. The friends organization is dedicated to maintaining and operating the mill as a historic landmark.
The program is free, beginning at 11 a.m. It will be followed by a noon luncheon costing $6 per person.
