The connector would widen sections of Miamisburg Springboro and Benner Roads, called “critically important” for creating better access from the Mound Business Park to the Austin Boulevard interchange of I-75.

“There’s a real interest in restarting (it) at this point,” county Transportation Improvement District Executive Director Steve Stanley said. But “the initial steps are not totally determined.”
The project was estimated to cost upward of $13 million before it was suspended, records show. Stanley said he did not have a current projected cost for the Mound Connector, but said due to finances it would have to be completed in portions.
“Clearly, it’s not an inexpensive project,” he said. “That’s a good stretch of road.”
Miamisburg City Council tonight is set to consider the Miamisburg Springboro Road site, a 1-acre parcel owned by CountyCorp. The cost would be $184,000, according to city records.

CountyCorp bought the land in 2015 for $180,000, Montgomery County records show.
“It was never envisioned that CountyCorp would be the long-term owner of the property,” city records show.
In 2014, the county, the county TID and the city of Miamisburg agreed to the Mound Advanced Technology Connector Project, according to city records.
It calls for the widening of Miamisburg Springboro to three lanes from Medlar Road to Benner, and widening Benner to three lanes between Miamisburg‐Springboro and Dayton‐Cincinnati, records show.
Initial plans called for a roundabout at the intersection of Benner and Miamisburg Springboro.
Miamisburg City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in Miamisburg Civic Center, 10 N. First St.
