Police: Middletown shooting ‘a drug deal gone wrong’

A man suffered a gunshot to the chest in a shooting that police described as “a drug deal gone bad.”

Middletown police Lt. Scott Reeve said the man who was shot was at a Lawn Avenue location to sell marijuana when suspects tried to rob him.

He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries Reeve described as serious.

Reeve said no arrests have been made, and that the shooting remains under investigation.

A medical helicopter been dispatched to Lawn Avenue in Middletown on a report of a shooting.

The incident was reported just before 6 p.m.

Middletown police confirm only that police were dispatched to the address on a shooting.
