To celebrate and recognize the significant achievements made by an individual or organization at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Awards until Dec 2.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual or organization who have made contributions to improve the quality of life on either the installation or within the local community through humanitarian efforts; social, cultural, or neighborly improvements; or providing leadership, counseling and guidance to others.

Award period for the awards are between Oct. 1, 2018, and Sept. 30, 2019. Award eligibility is open to all Wright-Patterson AFB employees: military, civilian and contractors. To submit a nomination:

• Submit on an AF Form 1206, Nomination for Award

• Categories are: Junior Enlisted (E-6 and below), Senior Enlisted (E-7-E-9), Company Grade Officer, Cat I Civilian (Supervisory), Cat II Civilian (non-supervisory), Small Team (10 or less) and Large Team (11 and above)

• With a total of seven bullets, cite specific facts, achievements, accomplishments or examples that show the nominee is exceptional using the following headers/categories:

o Community based leadership/mentorship (three bullets)

o Community enhancements (two bullets)

o Community based social change/improvement (one bullet)

o Community based cultural change/improvement (one bullet)

• Nominations can be submitted by supervisor or anyone in the change of command
