“I always tell people this is one of the hardest things that we have ever done, but by far the most rewarding. I mean he is completely worth it,” said Megan Farnham.

The county has averaged about 85 adoptions in the last five years but hasn’t reached 100 adoptions since 2007.
There are currently 191 children with county services waiting to be adopted, and a total of 619 children in foster care.
Anyone interested in learning more about foster care and adoption can attend the next informational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Haines Children’s Center, 3304 N. Main St.
