Montgomery County employees celebrate Black History Month

Montgomery County Employees celebrated Black History Month all this week at the Dayton Job Center, the third year for the employee-sponsored program.

In a ceremony Thursday, the program honored figures like former NFL great Keith Byars, R&B singer Shirley Murdock, former state senator and Dayton mayor Rhine McLin, and current Dayton city commissioner Chris Shaw.

The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company also performed during the award ceremony, which included a “soul food dinner” and live music.
