“My judgment was blurred,” Wallace said of his arrest.
Wallace was arrested for soliciting a prostitute and a weapons violation.
Wallace, 63, resigned his position with the fair on Sunday, officials with the fair said.
“It was just something I needed to do,” Wallace said of his resignation. Wallace told the fair board he was resigning for “personal reasons,” according to the Montgomery County Agricultural Society.

When asked if his resignation had to do with his arrest, Wallace said, “of course it did.”
“I found myself in a dark place in my life. I was not dealing with stress in a good way,” Wallace said.
Wallace said he plans to get counseling to deal with depression and anxiety.
He was on the fair board for four years.
“You hope that people will look at all you have done, and not judge you based off this,” Wallace said. “My goal is to get back to who I was.”
The fair board released a statement Monday: “The Montgomery County Agricultural Society Board of Directors would like to thank Greg for his guidance during our move to the new facility,” it read. “We wish nothing but the best in his future endeavors.” The fairgrounds moved in 2017-18 from its longtime home in Dayton to a new location in Jefferson Twp.

Before serving on the fair board, Wallace was planning and zoning administrator in the Village of Carlisle, according to Dayton Daily News archives. He also served as fire chief, interim safety director, interim city manager and interim service director over the course of 22 years with Carlisle.
He retired from Carlisle in 2016 to become Montgomery County Fair Director.
