Power restored in Springfield after over 2k people were left in the dark

Power appears to have been restored to most customers according to Ohio Edison’s power outage map.

The cause of the outage is still unclear.

INITIAL REPORT

More than 2,000 people are in the dark in Clark County this morning, according to the Ohio Edison outage map.

The map reports that as of 7:35 a.m., 2,247 customers are without power in Springfield, with a further 50 in Springfield Township and 25 in Moorefield Township. That makes a total of 2,322 customers with no electricity in Clark County.

The restoration time is currently estimated at 10 a.m. for all customers in Clark County.

The cause of the outage is currently unknown. We have reached out to Ohio Edison to ask for more details and will update this story when more information is available.
