Naked woman found wandering on Xenia road

XENIA — A 22-year-old mother was found wandering naked on Van Eaton Road in Xenia Saturday, while her 2-week-old baby was missing, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Passers-by called the sheriff’s department around 10:40 a.m. to report seeing a woman covered in mud, and not wearing clothes.

Greene County Sgt. Shawn Prall said the woman approached a residence to ask for help.

When officers arrived, they found the woman disoriented and incoherent. She gave the officers several different names and told them she left her 2-week-old baby in her car, but said she did not know the location of her car.

The sheriff’s department got the woman’s name, which has not been released, and contacted her family.

Her family confirmed she had a baby boy who was unaccounted for, and helped find the woman’s car at Gerdes Turf Farms, 1441 Upper Bellbrook Road in Xenia.

The infant was found alive in the car.

Prall said he believed the car was located roughly a half-mile to quarter-mile from where the woman was found, although the area’s rolling hills made it harder to determine. Officers did not know how long the baby had been in the car.

Both the mother and baby were transported to Miami Valley Hospital for observation.

Prall said the baby was in good health, and is in the care of social services.
