Trotwood have been working with the Michigan-based company for “a grocery solution” brought on by the September closing of the Foodtown store at 830 E. Main St.
GFS filed for a building permit last week and it is being reviewed, according to Montgomery County records. The application follows a visit Trotwood officials made in recent weeks to Michigan, where they visited the site of one of a number of GFS stores that have tested the concept being discussed.
City officials have said they expect GFS renovations to begin in March.
