“The project is scheduled for completion by Dec. 19,” ODOT Public Information Officer Mandi Dillon said in email. “The contractor hopes to have it done by the 13th if there aren’t any other issues. Utility and material issues were the main causes for delay.”

ODOT’s $3.14 million project on Ohio 741 in Miamisburg began earlier this year just north of Ohio 725 around one of the busiest intersections in the Dayton area.
The work is part of $5.5 million in ODOT road construction projects this year along with the two state routes in Miamisburg and Miami Twp.
The work in Miamisburg includes improved storm drainage, pedestrian access, sidewalk installation, traffic signal upgrades and asphalt resurfacing to Bauer Elementary School, according to ODOT.
“All asphalt work is complete, but weather will delay the permanent striping and grass growth until next spring,” Dillon said.

The traffic signal at the intersection of the two state routes “need to be completed along with one pole at Lowe’s, but we should have those ready for installation by November 18th,” she added.
Extended daytime lane closures started in late October. The remaining sidewalk/curb ramp work will be completed around the first or second week of December, Dillon said.
“There will be brief lane closures (a few hours for 2-4 days) during the day for the concrete work,” she said. “All future lane closure work for the signals and overhead signs will be at night.”
Earlier this year ODOT completed a resurfacing on Ohio 741 in Miami Twp. as part of a $2.48 million project that also included a strip along Ohio 725, records show. That work went from Austin Boulevard to Kingsridge Drive, according to ODOT.
