It features 17 sand volleyball courts as part of the an 82,000 square foot indoor/outdoor facility. Miami Valley Sand opened earlier this year on 6.6 acres at 200 W. Central Ave.

Feathers said more work needs to be done to have the outdoor bar opened for service, but food and drinks can be ordered indoors and taken outside once the temporary certificate of occupancy has been approved.
Then “I can start letting people sit out there, drink and eat,” Feathers said.
He said it will likely be next week before “we get a final inspection from the health department and then I can start serving” outdoors.
Those outside will be limited to groups of 10 or fewer and be required to follow social distancing guidelines, Feathers said.
It is not yet known when league volleyball play can resume under Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s lifting of coronavirus restrictions, Feathers said.

“We’re hoping to hear something this week,” Feathers said. “We’re gearing up. We’re wanting to play. But until they give us the OK” leagues will not be held.
“I’m just hoping to get leagues going because that’s my true bread and butter,” he said. “We have plenty of room.”
The facility can accommodate 360 teams Monday through Friday and has more than 300 parking spaces, officials have said.

Miami Valley Sand’s indoor facility includes 44,000 square feet, nine courts, a restaurant and bar, heat, fans, and 20 large garage doors to regulate air flow, officials have said.
Outdoor facilities feature eight courts, showers, restrooms, a bar with food service and a 36-foot wide deck, officials said.
