New Submarine House to offer arcade, bar

BEAVERCREEK — “The largest Submarine House ever” is expected to open the week of July 19, next to the Kroger that is under construction on Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek, owner Chris Caswell said.

“I’m hoping it becomes the place to be,” he said.

The new 3,000-square-foot, $400,000 restaurant will be far more advanced than a typical Submarine House, offering a full bar with eight beers on tap and full service, Caswell said.

New menu items will include fried Twinkies, fried Oreos and nachos. The Philly-style cheesesteaks and oven-toasted deli subs that the franchise is known for will be on the menu also.

Arcade games such as “Golden Tee” will be available, along with Keno, trivia, karaoke and seven TVs. Games for children will be featured, with “kids eat free” hours, which are still being decided.

In the future, an outdoor patio will be added.

Delivery is available within a five-mile radius.

“We’re also going to have a really great happy hour, we’re going to do $1 off drinks and really cheap appetizers as well, to compete with The Greene,” Caswell said.

The restaurant is owned by Caswell and his wife, Tisha. They live in Beavercreek.

The husband-and-wife team owned the Submarine House at 3899 Germany Lane for eight years, but sold it in October 2009 with plans to open a bigger and better store in the heart of Beavercreek.

The couple plan to hire 30 to 40 employees.
