The NFL is honoring Dayton for hosting the first-ever professional football game by installing a new turf field in the city.

The NFL originally planned to build the park at Triangle Park, where the first game was played on Oct. 3, 1920, between the Dayton Triangles and Columbus Panhandles.
But the city and NFL nixed that after a survey found possible evidence of Native Americans buried there.
The Bengals kick off training camp Saturday with a practice at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.
The city confirmed today that the former Parkside Homes site near Kettering Field is the targeted location.
