As construction continues on an $18.5 million FedEx Ground site off I-75 in Miami Twp., the company has yet to decide how many jobs the facility will create.

Records indicate as many as 200 employees will work there, but the company "has yet to determine" staffing for the site being built on 32 acres on Byers Road near the Interstate 75/I-675 interchange, said FedEx spokesman David Westrick.

The 249,506 square feet FedEx Ground South Dayton facility is among 70 similar sites the company has planned this year, he said.

The facility at 8650 Byers Road – set to open in July 2017 - will have a maximum occupancy of 568, according to Montgomery County documents.

The plan calls for 845 parking spaces. Those numbers show 474 spaces for automobiles, 131 for long trailers, 125 for “HD vans” and 94 for 28-foot trailers, records show.
