Oakwood is losing a long-time city employee in November and will make an appointment from within the city to fill his void.

Public Safety Director Chief Alex Bebris will leave his position with the city to pursue a new career, according to a news release. Alan Hill will be appointed to his new role Nov. 10.

Bebris held the position for the past 11 years, serving as police and fire chief.

Hill has been with the public safety department for 10 years — four as an officer and six as a captain.

Oakwood’s public safety director oversees both fire/EMS and police services.
