The identities of the subject and the officers had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon, but the police “are doing well and are recovered,” according to West Carrollton Police Department Public Information Officer Maureen Flaute.
The man – described by a 9-1-1 caller as 29 – became involved in a struggle with officers, Flaute said in an email Tuesday.
He was restrained and taken to a local hospital for assessment and treatment. Charges are being presented to the prosecutor, Flaute said.

This news organization has filed a public records request for documents in the case. Those records have yet to be released, and the investigation is ongoing, Flaute said.
The incident occurred sometime after 5 p.m. Officers were dispatched in response to a call for medical attention from a male in the 800 block of East Dixie Drive, police said.
“The male appeared to be under the influence of some unknown substance and ran from the original location,” Flaute said.
The 9-1-1 caller at a business told a dispatcher the man approached him and asked me “to give you guys a call.”
The man then stepped outside, the caller said, before saying “something about going to his grandmother’s house.”
The man then fled to another business, the 9-1-1 caller said. Officers were able to locate him inside a third business, the Ele Cake Co., where he was apprehended, Flaute said.
